There is a huge gash in the monkey's arm here... hard to see, but you can really understand how little care these animals get.




This is my favourite picture of the day. Really grasps the feeling that you can see in the eyes of the animals. Their cages are so small and there is no one tending to them at all while people poke and tease them one after another. Heart breaking. This Malaysian Sun Bear was so hard to look at. He cried and growled a lot.

This little guy was very curious/frightened of my camera. When I would pull it out he would come over and look and then swim away quickly and stay away till I put it away and then repeated. So cute.















A sample of the beautiful fall colours out here right now... breathtaking when you see the mountains covered in these colours.

Cute Meerkat.... I love these things. Could be from my obsession with "The Lion King" when I was really young...












The ostrich that you could definitely tell was being fed by the zoo patrons.... it followed you everywhere along the fence and answered to your whistle
